“Ross Roadmarkers advises that concrete has an inherent issue with efflorescence which is the formation of calcium carbonate on the surface. This material will have a dramatic effect on the performance of the paint and therefore Ross Roadmarkers is only willing to apply markings to your concrete surface under the following terms and conditions:
– The Customer accepts that No warranty as to performance is provided as concrete is a difficult surface to apply paint to and retain its adhesion.
– No paint will be applied unless the concrete surface is at least 3 months old.
– We require to be advised of the age of the concrete, any surface treatment applied to your concrete i.e. if densifiers, curing compounds or sealants were used in the laying process and whether the surface has been acid washed, water blasted, sand blasted or ground. To assist with adhesion Ross Roadmarkers recommends that the concrete is water blasted, acid etched, acid washed or shot blasted. A primer can be used as well to assist with adhesion; however, adhesion cannot be guaranteed. Primer will be charged at $15.71/m² if requested. No Warranty is offered for any marking installed onto concrete surfaces.”
“If coloured surfacing has been priced Ross Roadmarkers will apply Geveko Plastiroute RP-2C. This is a long life mma product with an aggregate mix of 1-2mm quartz. Water cutting of the surface is not required for the product to adhere, however, the surface must be free of any oils and contaminants. If water cutting is required by the client, this will be an additional charge to be determined. Asphalt surfaces must be at least 4 weeks old before overlaying with coloured surfacing.”
